Resumen:
Previous floristic and palinologic studies were made in the Parque Nacional el Palmar, although studies that involve a genetic and paleopalinologic approach weren’t carried on to the present. The study of genomic and genic variability in Butia yatay can allow us to understand the adaptive processes to antropogenic climatic change. Genetic based investigation will permit us to identify polimorphisms of interest that contribut to explain the adaptive variability to humid and dry periods in the specie, comparable to the ones found during Late Holocen.B. yatay’s paleopalinologic information for the aforementioned period collected from subsoil simples radiotopically dated and complimentary information will allow to estimate the paleoclimatic conditions for the studied period. The results will allow us to associate this climatic conditions to adaptive variability patterns in B. yatay. The importance of this study is centerd around: the absence of studies of this type in PNEP; the original genetic/paleopalinological approach; the conservation strategies for the specie that can be carried on with the results of this study.
