Resumen:
The International Wader Study Group Annual Conference was held in Workum, The Netherlands, and was part of the Leeuwarden European Capital of Culture 2018 events. I was planning my holidays to Italy and Greece (since I had never been to Europe before!) when I heard that the IWSG 2018 meeting was to be held in The Netherlands. I felt excited to take this chance to attend the IWSG Annual Conference for the first time. Finally, and after several emails with the local organizing team (Petra, Triin and Yvonne), everything was made possible to fly over and attend the meeting.
