Resumen:
In this work the assessment of two genetic technologies, as well as an elementomic analysis was performed in maize based on elemental analysis of leaves and grains tissues. Leaf and grains of maize were mineralized in a microwave oven and analysed by microwave induced plasma optical emission spectroscopy (MPAES) for the quantification of eleven elements: Al, Ba, Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, P. Pb, Sr and Zn. Data analysis was performed by principal components analysis (PCA) obtaining two models which belongs to leaf and grain, which explain a 96 and 95% of original information respectively, grouping both genetic technologies. Then, classification models were obtained using linear discriminant analysis (LDA) achieving a 100% of correct classification in training and prediction sets for leaf and grains models. On the other hand, an elementomic study was performed through the description of translocation mechanisms that occurs for several elements in maize plant. The proposed analysis can be useful in routine control labs to analyse genetic technologies in maize based on elemental analysis, avoiding the use of genetic techniques.
