Resumen:
Carbon Nanodots (CNDs) combine properties such as good UV-Vis light absorption, water solubility and high stability, which hold a great promise for their implementation as photosensitisers for solar-driven catalysis and in charge-transfer assays for artificial photosynthesis. We have synthesized the starting CNDs by using citric acid and urea precursors. A constant pressure during the microwave synthesis leads to a distribution of pressure-CNDs (pCND) with a sharp and narrow emission pattern. In this work we explore the interactions between pCNDs and a variety of porphyrins. Different chemical functions on both components allow for a detailed screening of the driving forces that lead to the formation of supramolecular architectures. Special attention is focused on photoinduced charge separation processes where pCNDs serve as electron acceptors.
