Resumen:
- By comparing dexamethasone activity in cell-attached and inside-out patches it was found that the changes were independent of the membrane face of application.- Analysis of the data in the framework of activation-blocking reaction schemes indicates that dexamethasone acts by inducing a modification of acetylcholine receptor channel kinetics comprising a blocked-closed state of protein. It is suggested that dexamethasone exerts its action by altering the receptor-lipid interface or by readhing a specific site(s) on the acetylcholine receptor protein via a membrane pathway.
