Resumen:
The braincase of the Tyrannosaurus rex known as “Scotty” (RSM P2523.8) is well preserved, and provides important, new information. Unfortunately, the endocranial cavity is still filled with sediment so that internal characters (such as the shape of the floccular recess and the relative positions of internal cranial foramina) cannot be observed and compared. Most of the sutures between the bones of the braincase cannot be seen because of fusion, indicating that “Scotty” is an adult individual. In this contribution, the braincase is described and compared with the braincase assigned to another tyrannosaurid, Daspletosaurus (TMP 2001.36.01).
