Descripción:
The purpose of the cooperative agreement is to provide minimum enabling conditions to restore unique wildlife and wilderness and promote sustainable livelihoods in Patagonia by working with local stakeholders and decision-makers in Chile and Argentina. In the first half of 2018, through work with government agencies and livestock producers, we advanced the conservation of five critical Patagonian landscapes: 1) Payunia-Laguna Blanca, in the northern steppe, 2) Somuncurá, in the central steppe of Argentina, 3) Península Valdés, representing coastal steppe, 4) Santa Cruz Plateau, in the southern steppe, and 5) Karukinka, in Chilean Tierra del Fuego with a landscape that extends into the Argentine side of the island.
