Resumen:
Little information is available on the ecology of the hog-nosed skunks (Conepatus spp) in the Neotropics. One of the least known species is the common hog-nosed skunk, C. chinga. The hog nosed skunk is found from Bolivia south through Uruguay and western Paraguay into Argentina at least as far south as Neuquén province and central Chile. Here we report the first data on activity, home-range and habitat use and selection of the common hog-nosed skunk in steppe habitat of northwestern Argentinean Patagonia.
