Resumen:
Biofuels are considered a viable solution for reducing global warming. This is due to the absorption of carbon during the growth of biomass, balancing out the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions produced by vehicles. Additionally, biofuels have better fuel characteristics than fuels derived from petroleum and can provide advantages such as improved fuel efficiency. Many developed and developing countries are increasingly adopting modern technology and efficient bioenergy conversion techniques that utilize various biofuels. These biofuels are becoming economically competitive with fossil fuels. Global biofuel production for transportation has significantly increased, with ethanol production playing an important role in the transportation sector. Moreover, the utilization of renewable diesel and biodiesel is also experiencing a significant surge. The recent increase in biofuel production and usage can be attributed, in part, to government support in the form of tax credits. The provision of this support is mostly attributed to the acknowledgment of the effectiveness of biofuels in supplementing conventional fossil fuels.
