Resumen:
In this investigation, a thermo-responsive low molecular weight 4′-(hexyloxy)-4-biphenyl-carbonitrile(HOBC) liquid crystal was used as modifier for biobased epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) cured with citricacid (CA). The aim of this investigation work was designed thermosets with thermo-responsiveproperties of HOBC phase, which maintain self-healing properties of ESO/CA matrix. To achieve this,HOBC-ESO/CA thermosetting systems with different HOBC content were studied. Moreover, 40HOBCESO/CA thermosetting system was additionally modified with a small amount of poly(ε-caprolactone-blactide) (CLLA) block copolymer.
