Resumen:
The manufacture of heart valves requires a suitable hemocompatible material and corrosion and wear resistance. The TiO2 has the property of hemocompatibility, which depends on the morphology of the coating, its thickness and crystal structure [1][2]. On the structure is known that anatase and rutile forms are more appropriate than amorphous TiO2 coatings. Velten et al. [3] found that TiO2 oxide coatings over 100 nm of titanium alloys provide adequate protection againstcorrosion by comparing the results with uncoated titanium substrate. For this reason it is important to know their characteristics, among which are the thickness, morphology and crystalline structure, which depend on the deposition process [3][4][5]. Consequently, in this work we analyzed sol-gel dip-coating process parameters that affect the characteristics of the coatings and its crystal structure on a grade 5 titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V).
