Influence of a Nanostructured ZnO layer on the Carrier Recombination and Dynamics of Chalcopyrite solar cells

Resumen:
Due to it interesting optical properties chalcopyrite materials like CuInS2 (CIS) and CuInSe2 (CISe) among others, are intensively studied as absorption materials in solar cells1,2. In these planar architecture for solar cells, the incorporation of nanostructures can be used to partially compensate the typically low efficiencies of superstrate cells. Moreover, it has been suggested that requirements on the carrier dynamics in the absorber material are significantly reduced in comparison with the planar geometry3,4. In this work Intensity Modulated Photovoltage and Photocurrent Spectroscopy (IMVS and IMPS respectively) are used to study the charge dynamics of two solar cells with and without a nanostructured layer.
