Interacciones Hiperfinas en Impurezas 181Ta en B-Gd2O3 Dopado por Implantación Iónica

Resumen:
We report Perturbed-Angular-Correlation results of the electric-nuclear quadrupole interactions at 181Ta  impurities located at the three nonequivalent cationic sites of  the monoclinic structure of Gd2O3. The application of the electric-field-gradient empirical correlation found in binary oxides for Cd/Ta impurities allowed us to correlate these interactions with each site and to identify the single Gd site populated in 111In-implanted B-Gd2O3 experiments. The preferential site occupation of Cd and Ta in B-Gadolinia is discussed in terms of the coordination chemistry of the probe atoms. The temperature dependence of the observed hyperfine interactions is also discussed.
