Resumen:
In the region of Nahuel Huapi, in the NorthPatagonia in Argentina, the touristic activity is linked to thebeauty of the landscape and the nature. Francisco P. Morenomade the donation of three leagues of land, and on thatbase in 1934 was created the Direction of Nationals Parks(DNP) as the institution for the control and care of the twofirsts National Parks: Iguazú in the North, and NahuelHuapi in Patagonia.Since then, from the management of Exequiel Bustillo, who was the President of the DNP until 1944, was designed, planned and structured the region. The international tourist center in which has become thecity of San Carlos de Bariloche, its based on that project, and in the present it´s so important the enhancement ofnatural heritage as the architectural urban style: the postcardcreated on that period has transcended to present daymaintaining this image where the nature is the frame for thearchitecture, and its the scenery of the symbolic productionof nationalist speech. We are facing a case of urban development in which wedevised what we would today call a enhancement of thenatural heritage, through its transformation into an economicand tourist resource, that involves several cities andsurrounding villages. The present work makes a journey through the history ofthe use of the city´s tourist resources to observe how Barilochecurrently hides a more complex social reality than itappears, and in this effort to reflect on the use of heritage.
