Resumen:
The present study provides quantitative and qualitative analyses of the dentition of 25 Discopyge tschudii. Overall, 193 individuals (99 males and 94 females) of D. tschudii were 26 collected on scientific trawl surveys conducted by the National Institute for Fisheries 27 Research and Development (INIDEP) and commercial vessels in Argentina. Discopyge 28 tschudii has rhombic-shaped teeth, arranged in a semi-pavement-like dentition; each tooth 29 has an erect cusp slightly inclined posteriorly, and holaulachorized root. Mature males have 30 greater tooth lengths than females and immature specimens. Discopyge tschudii exhibits 31 dignathic homodonty and gradient monognathic heterodonty where teeth of the 32 commissural row are shorter than those of the symphyseal and internal rows.
