Resumen:
In the early ?60s Argentina collaborated in the International Campaign (to Save the Monuments of Nubia) promoted by the UNESCO before the building of Aswan High Dam. 50 pieces from Aksha Temple of Seti I and Ramses II were donated to La Plata Museum, including lintels, jambs and stelae. The Egyptian collection of La Plata Museum is completed with a plaster casts collection which illustrates each period of pharaonic history, acquired from the plaster casts section in Boulaq Museum that was active during the late nineteenth century. All of these are just some of the pieces from pharaonic Egypt conserved in Argentina. Moreover, and despite of the 11.805 kilometers of distance between our two countries, remarkable Argentinian projects have been developed in Egypt. It is also worth mentioning the participation of some Argentines in different foreign missions in Egypt. Finally, the Amenmose Project focuses on the study and conservation of Theban Tomb 318 located in Sheik Abd el-Qurna, which belonged to the stonemason named Amenmose. This project strengthens the cooperation relationship between Argentina and Egypt and contributes to international cooperation in the conservation of the heritage that Egypt has bequeathed to humanity.
