Resumen:
The paper advances on major theoretical discussions and operational implications for the construction of landscape catalogs as tools of knowledge and eventual land management. Three instruments developed in differential contexts, a European and two Latin Americans are analyzed. From the perspective of heritagization processes in which the tools and scope are usefulness, the discussion is focused on the efficiency of these instruments. The findings give account of the difficulties involved in some of the positions adopted while pointing out different perspectives and methodological strategies as alternative working hypothesis
