Resumen:
The present knowledge of peruvian Tenebrionidaeis summarized. Currently, the Peruvian fauna includes 8 subfamilies, 37 tribes,104 genera, and 354 species or subspecies. The following topics are included: taxonomicdiversity, geographic distribution and historic knowledge. Taxonomic diversitydeals with species richness, endemism, biogeographic composition and estimationof species richness. According to geographic distribution, the Peruvian faunaare grouped in Desert, Andean and Amazonic taxa. Historic knowledge deals with descriptionprocess through decades and contributions of authors.
