Resumen:
We report a detailed study of the development and morphology in four species of the genus Pterocactus (Cactaceae), carried on usinf LM and SEM. The anther is tetrasporangiate, its wals consist of epidermis, endothecium, one middle layer and a binucleate secretory tapetum. Microspore tethrads arre tethraedrical and pollen grains are are shed at binuclear stage. Pollen grains are panthoporate with a perforate tectum and supratectate spinules.
