In this note one homonymy in the genus Praocis Eschscholtz (Pimeliinae: Praocini) for the species Praocis rotundata Lacordaire, 1830 and Praocis rotundata Laporte, 1840 is resolved and two new synonyms in the genus Praocis are proposed. Praocis rotundata Laporte, 1840 is placed in synonymy with Praocis sulcata Eschscholtz, 1829; Praocis rotundata Lacordaire, 1830 is resurrected from its synonymy with P. sulcata Eschscholtz, and Praocis soror Kulzer, 1958 is determined to be a junior synonym of Praocis rotundata Lacordaire.
