Resumen:
A plant taphonomic analysis of three Triassic deltaic-lacustrine systems from the western Gondwana is presented. Systematic sampling was carried out in three deltaic-lacustrine systems of the center-west of Argentina, the Potrerillos-Cacheuta sequence, Agua de la Zorra Formation (Cuyana Basin), and the Los Rastros Formation (Ischigualasto-Villa Unión Basin). Eight taphonomic modes were identified and described for the three sequences. In all the cases plant remains preservation in distal lacustrine facies were enhanced by anoxic conditions. In proximal near-shore facies, the high-water table level and a high sedimentation rate would have been factors that enhanced the plant preservation. Differences observed in the number of materials and the diversity of taxa registered have been attributed to ecological differences than variations in the taphonomic processes in each of the lake systems.
