Glaciological information is usually collected through direct field measurements and/or remote sensing techniques. The international programs that compile, organize and publish this information regularly receive updated data from National Correspondents or specific researchers. The submission and sharing of this information follows a series of guidelines and conventions that help standardize the datasets and facilitate the analyses of the data.
