Resumen:
TheAgua de la Zorra Formation deposits represent a lacustrine system. The unitincludes Corystospermales, together with Equisetales and Osmundales, conchostracans, fish scales and reptile bones. The lower section would correspond to a delta depositwith scarce kerogen; the paleoflora includescomplete to fragmented leaves and stems. The upper part would represent prodeltato offshore lacustrine deposits, bearing variable amounts of non-fluorescent amorphous kerogen; the megaflora remainsare relatively small, broken and disarticulated. The stacking pattern shows aprogressive deepening of the lacustrine system what correlates with an increaseupwards of the abundance of organic matter (OM) preserved. The increase of the K/Rbratio to the top of the section, suggests a terrigenous origin to the kerogenof the deepest horizons of the lake. The analysis of the Cr/Zr ratio, inconsonance with the presence of V, would indicate the existence of basic rocksin the provenance area of the basin.
