Resumen:
The aim of the present study was to estimate and model the geocryological belt along the Central and Desert Andes in San Juan province. Climatological series of NCEP-CSFR (1979-2010) were used for the estimation of air temperature; CRU gridded data was also used for precipitation trends and, the National Glacier and Rock glacier Inventory data was used to compute regional trends for rock glacier?s distribution. Identified geocryological belts are those with predominant conditions of: Perennial Frost, Seasonally Thawing Ground, Seasonally Freezing Ground and Short-Term Periodic Freezing Ground. First two, represent the mountain periglacial belt, above 3700masl.
