Resumen:
Here wepresent the state of the art of the mass balance program of the GlacierInventory of Argentina. IANIGLA conducts the mass balance program with theobjective of obtaining glaciological and hydro-meteorological information fromthe different regions of the Andes of Argentina. In each of theclimate-geographic regions of the Andes of Argentina, one glacier is selectedto accomplish detail studies to know the surface mass balance, ice volume, surface velocity, local climate andglacier run off. This information is crucial to understand the glacier-climaterelationship and the future availability of water to the development of thesociety and regional economics at the foot of the Andes.
