Resumen:
Stated preference valuation methods often ask respondents for periodical payments, sometimes for the remaining life of the people. It is not usually specified whether those payments would vary according to inflation. Thus, results could differ significantly, particularly in high inflation economies. An empirical application for an anthropogenic-pressure mitigation program in the basins of western Argentina finds that inflation is a factor deemed influential by respondents in deciding how much they are willing to pay for a change in the provision of goods. An additional test on the robustness of estimated values provides results consistent with prior expectations.
