Resumen:
Capítulo 8 LA EROSIÓN HÍDRICA EN EL PIEDEMONTE MENDOCINO WATER EROSION AND EROSION RISK IN THE MENDOZA PIEDMONT Alberto I. J. Vich, Emilce Vaccarino y Federico Bizzotto Abstract We have measured the water erosion in plots, reservoirs of small dams originated by the construction of water traps in the piedmont area west of the Gran Mendoza. We have also taken measurements of the solid flow at the basin of the Mendoza River. The observations of soil loss (PS) measured at the plots show that 34 % of them correspond to PS < 1000 kg.ha-1, 27 % is between 1000.0 < PS < 2000 kg.ha-1, and 39 % is more than 2000 kg.ha-1 by event. The measuring of sediments deposited in the water traps was estimated around 3726 kg.ha-1.y -1. The Tupungato basin shows the larger specific degradation, the sediments produced represent more than 40% of the total transported by the Mendoza River. The degradation at the basin of the Cuevas River duplicates that of the Vacas River basin. The middle basin of the Mendoza River shows a mean degradation of 402 tn.y-1.km-2.
