Resumen: Eneida de Virgilio es un texto especialmente importante para emprender un estudio acerca de las concepciones etnográficas en la época de Augusto. Siendo la etnografía antigua una descripción de la relación entre geografía y pueblos y de pueblos entre si, esta ponencia tiene como objetivo relevar algunos datos que contribuyen a definir la pluralidad de etnias que habitan Italia en Eneida, y cuyas características etnográficas son atendidas en función de su futura pertenencia a la Tota Italia de Augusto. La hipótesis central postula que en Eneida subyace una mirada retrospectiva sobre el Bellum Sociale como momento de concreción de una noción política de “Italia” y cuya consecuencia es un proceso de selección de pueblos con los que Roma fortalecerá relaciones frente a aquellos que no tendrán importancia en la política post-Accio.               Abstract: Virgil´s Aeneid is a text especially important to undertake a study of ethnographic conceptions at the time of Augustus. Being an old ethnographic description of the relationship between geography and peoples and some peoples to each other, this paper aims to relieve some data that help define the plurality of ethnic groups living in Italy in Aeneid, and ethnographic characteristics are dealt with according to their future membership of the Tota Italia of Augustus. The central hypothesis postulates that in retrospect Aeneid lies on the Bellum Sociale as a moment of realization of a political notion of "Italy" and the consequence is a process of selection of peoples with which Rome will strengthen relationships versus those that will not matter Roman post-Actium policy.
