Resumen:
The term ?pultrusion? combines the words, ?pull? and ?extrusion?. Extrusion is the act of pushed or drawn a material through a die of the desired cross-section. Where as pultrusion, is the pulling of material, such as continuous fiber and resin, through a shape die. Basically, pultrusion is the process of ?pulling? raw composites through a heated die creating a continuous composite profile and it is one of the few continuous processes for composites manufacture  Pultrusion is the fastest growing manufacturing process of composite materials. Although based on simple physical principles, the fabrication of pultruded parts is not a simple task, because it involves the proper control of heat transfer and the cure kinetics of the resin matrix. In fact, a careful control of the entire fabrication procedure is needed to avoid defective pultruded parts. Even if the proper boundary conditions are established, pultruded parts can show an uneven fiber distribution and voids. The present chapter would like to be a review of the process until nowadays and the use of this technique for thermosetting and thermoplastics polymers.
