THE VALLEY OF TELSEN STREAM AND POSIBILITIES OF A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT Abstract The Somuncura plateau accumulates the water that gets into its fissures and runs in a horizontal way due to the clay mantle that lies under the basalt. This water nurtures the slopes and moist soils that form the micro valleys at peripherals areas. One of the most important is the Telsen stream, whose river basin is an authentic oasis with microclimate conditions. Although, the actual benefit of the hydric resource is anarchic, unsystematic and unproductive, requiring a systematic and integrative planning that allows the expansion of low irrigation areas in order to get a sustainable development.
