The transformation directly points at the urban concept, including not only the formal aspect, but also the whole everyday practices. The incorporation of important suburban land fractions to the metropolitan district and its atomization on gated communities is indicating a new stage of the metropolitan growth process. Our hypothesis upholds that the increasing self-sufficiency of gated communities is an important factor of segregation and fragmentation with the rest of the open cities, and the articulation problematic between traditional urban model and new urbanizations will be studied as well as autonomy and governmental issues and new actor’s participation.
