Resumen La meseta de Somuncura acumula agua que se infiltra por sus fisuras y corre en forma horizontal debido a la capa de arcilla que se encuentra debajo del basalto. Este agua alimenta a las vertientes y los mallines que forman los microvalles en las zonas perimetrales. Uno de los más importantes corresponde al arroyo Telsen, cuya cuenca constituye un auténtico oasis con condiciones de microclima. No obstante, el actual aprovechamiento del recurso hídrico es anárquico, desorganizado e ineficiente, requiriendo de una planificación sistémica e integral que permita aumentar las áreas bajo riego y posibilite un desarrollo productivo sustentable.Palabras clave: valle perimetral, microclima, riego, producción agropecuaria, Arroyo TelsenTHE VALLEY OF TELSEN STREAM AND POSIBILITIES OF A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENTAbstract The Somuncura plateau accumulates the water that gets into its fissures and runs in a horizontal way due to the clay mantle that lies under the basalt. This water nurtures the slopes and moist soils that form the micro valleys at peripherals areas. One of the most important is the Telsen stream, whose river basin is an authentic oasis with microclimate conditions. Although, the actual benefit of the hydric resource is anarchic, unsystematic and unproductive, requiring a systematic and integrative planning that allows the expansion of low irrigation areas in order to get a sustainable development.Key words: peripheral valley, microclimate, irrigation, farming production, Telsen Stream.
