In this text we aim to use a specific story inside Egils Saga to illustrate how medieval Icelanders imagined a realistic path a man can use wealth to acquire political power and political power to acquire wealth. In the conclusion, I will briefly comment on Egils saga as a literary piece wrtitten in a very specific context and associated with a specific group with clear political ambitions.
