Resumen:
The mapping of human populations and their demographic dynamics on the landscapeis a difficult task at best. To achieve this goal, all kinds of evidence should beused, including rock art. We choose to work with a perspective in which rock art isseen as a transformation of the environment introduced by human populations, andwhich considers these changes as part of the heritage received by later generations. Here, we focus on the distribution of rock art motifs, and its relationship with othermarkers, to discuss the identification of prehistoric human populations in southernPatagonia.
