Resumen:
The purpose of this paper is to inform about similarities in technology, design and burial practices between the upper Santa Cruz basin and the Magellan Strait during the late Holocene, and to evaluate the reasons behind these similarities. We will focus on evidences from three time periods: 4,300 to 2,800 years BP, 2800 to 1,100 years BP and after 750 years BP. The selection of the time periods considered the available stratigraphical information. Similarities in technology and raw material provenance indicate that the area was part of the home range of hunter-gatherers who were utilizing lowlands and highlands close to the upper Santa Cruz basin during the first two time periods. There are similarities in burial techniques and designs at a broader scale, including spaces located to the south. During the first time period, burial practices information suggests that contacts were regular, while the situation afterwards is not clear
