Quantum Mechanics: A new turn in Probability Theory

We present a review of quantum probability theory in the framework of quantum logic and the general approach of convex operational models. We establish the connection between these general techniques of probability theories in order to i) illuminate the special features of quantum theory and ii) ma ke a comparison with more general models. We place special emphasis on twe approaches to probability theory, namely, Kolmogorov's and R.T. Cox's, and the application of the Cox's method to the study of non-classical probabilities.
