Resumen:
The evolution of mechanically alloyed nitride doped with Mn was performed with the aim to determinethe Mn preferred substitution site in the gamma?-Fe4N nitride was studied. X ray diffraction and later Mössbauer spectroscopy show the segregation of alpha-Fe when Mn is added to the nitride. The study of phase fractions allowed us to conclude that Mn replace Fe only in the Fe4N, having a first preference for the site I of this nitride and then replace those irons from the faces of the crystal structure of the site II. All the other hyperfine parameters of the Fe4N and Fe3N are also reported, observing only a decrease of the mean magnetic field of Fe3N with the Mn content.
