Resumen:
To perform a material with potential biomedicals aplications, a novel gelatin films was prepared by cold-casting method using cerium (III) and genipin solution as crosslinking agents, and surface modified with dendritic molecules. The structure and properties of the synthesized gelatin films were investigated by ATR-FTIR, mechanicals tests, swelling behavior and water vapor permeability (WVP). The results showed that crosslinking could improve the mechanical properties and lower the hydrophilic property of the gelatin films; additionally, the system gelatin/cerium(III)/genipin film showed the best properties, so was prepared a one-surface modified film with weysocianate (commercial dendron) from this. The results showed that experimental methodology performed allows the one-surface modification, so was obtained a novel biomaterial as film form with good properties and dendritic structure in one face (hydrophobic and hydrophilic faces) that gives a multivalent structure useful in biomedicine development.
