Síntesis. El artículo analiza el vínculo entre historia, trascendencia ética y tiempo a partir de la filosofía de E. Levinas. Persigue tres objetivos. Primeramente explicitar cómo la  trascendencia ética puede introducir un punto de inflexión en la legalidad histórica a través de acontecimientos-gestos. En segundo lugar, mostrar cómo la diacronía del tiempo constituye la condición de posibilidad última sobre la base de la cual la subjetividad es invitada una y otra vez a hacer intervenir la trascendencia ética en el decurso sincrónico de la la historia. Finalmente indicar, desde una perspectiva no confesional, un posible rol de Dios en la historia. Abstract The article analizes the relationship between history, ethical transcendence, and time in the framework of E. Levinas´s philosophy. Its purpose is threefold. First, an attempt is made to show how ethical transcendence can bring forth a point of inflection in historical legality though events that are gestures. Second, an attempt is made to show how the diachrony of time constitutes the ultimate condition of possibility by which subjectivity is invited over and over again to make ethical transcendence intervene in the synchronic course of history. Finally, the author outlines, from a nonconfessional perspective, a possible role of God in history.
