The arrival of the massive immigration in the beginnings of the 20th century made the intellectuals and governors more interested, and they opened a debate about expected immigration and the controls that should be applied. Despite the interest that immigration, specially the European, had begun, the development of migration studies had place not until the last decades. Starting in the decade of 1980 the migration processes became an academic problem of study which fructified into an abundant –though fragmentary- production. The argentine historiography incorporated European and American interpretative models, which allowed interesting hypothesis formulations about the historic process of the argentine society conformation. The most influential debate in the formulation of later paradigms emerged around the ideas of “melting pot” and “cultural pluralism”. This dissimilar way of conceiving the migration phenomenom and their interaction with the society, produced a vast academic production that keeps giving signs of vitality. In relation with the Armenian immigration to Argentina, although it comes from earlier days, its scientific and systemic study presents things and times that we don’t know. There are few works done that, from the methodological premises of the academic world, have analyzed the migration process to Argentina beginning, for example, from the structural causes of the emigration, the original population of the Armenian in the demographic and socio-economic structure of the country, the creation of associations like scopes of sociability and leadership, etc. The objective of our proposal is make a review of the works (books, papers, Ph.D. and Master thesis) whose thematic focus is the study of the Armenian community in Argentina, in order to know how it has been studied, which are the blanks of knowledge and the problematic fields that have not been studied yet. We propose to analyze the main traits, their axis of analysis, the theoretical models in which they sustain.
