Resumen:
The aim of the paper is to analyze, for the 1993-2012 period, whether the Common Automotive Policy (CAP) of Argentina and Brazil has been an effective tool to create genuine and symmetric intraregional trade, and to achieve a geographically diversified export pattern from a common regional export platform. The mail contribution regarding previous works on the same subject is that this study focuses on the auto part segment of the automotive supply chain, seeking to answer the above raised research questions both at an aggregate level and at the main sets of parts that compose the universe of auto parts (Body; Chassis and transmission system; Engines; Wheels and tires; Electrical and electronic systems; and Other parts).
