Resumen:
SCINAX GRANULATUS (NCN). ARGENTINA: BUENOS AIRES: Partido de General Madariaga: (37º01’09’’S, 57º06’57”W). 20 September 2005. R. Cajade and D. A. Barrasso. Verified by Jorge Williams. Herpetological collection Museo de La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina (MLP.A. 4922, 4923, 4924). Species previously known for southern Brazil, southeastern Paraguay, northeastern Argentina, and Uruguay (Cei, J.M. 1980. Monitore Zoologico Italiano N.S. 2: 1-609; Aquino, A. L., et al. eds. 1996. O.R.: 331-400; Kwet, A. 2001. Salamandra. 37: 211-238). The most austral known locality supported by voucher specimens is: Pereyra Iraola, Partido de La Plata, Buenos Aires province, Argentina (Gallardo, J. M. 1961. Com. Mus. Arg. Cien. Nat. "Bernardino Rivadavia" III (5): 145-158). Gallardo (op. cit.) mentioned two specimens from Sierra de la Ventana, located 450 km W-SW far from General Madariaga, but such citation is not supported by voucher specimens. Hence, the present finding represents the most austral record for Scinax granulatus and extends the distributional range of the species ca. 250 km south far from La Plata.
