Resumen:
ABSTRACT The helminth fauna of Chaunus granulosus major (Muller and Hellmich, 1936) was studied from 19 adults individuals from Corrientes, province of Corrientes, Argentina (27°28’S, 58°50’W) between August, 2001 and April, 2003. Fifteen amphibians were parasited (79.0 %) for four species of nematodes (adults of Cosmocerca podicipinus, Cosmocerca parva and Aplectana delirae, and larval of Physaloptera sp.). Cosmocerca parva had the highest values for the prevalence (37.0 %) and mean intensity (21.4 ± 21.6) of infection. Three species of helminth are cited for the first time in the host Chaunus granulosus major and a new locally record in Sudamerica is reported for two species of helminth. Key words: Chaunus granulosus major, Nematoda, Corrientes, Argentina.
