Resumen:
The Argentine Society of Anthropology (SAA) was founded on April 24, 1936 by a group of pioneers dedicated to Anthropology and other related disciplines. The mission of the Argentine Society of Anthropology, as expressed in Art. 2 of its Statutes, is ?to promote anthropological research in the country and coordinate the efforts of those who today dedicate themselves to studies of this nature.? Currently the official headquarters of the SAA is located in the Ethnographic Museum ?J. B. Ambrosetti? of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UBA.The SAA develops an intense editorial work.Since 1999, it has been publishing Doctoral Theses, Bachelor Thesis, Publications, and Co-editions collections.In addition, the SAA participates in the organization of scientific events. It has an updated library specialized in Anthropology formed through the national and international inter-institutionalexchange and a documentary file gathered from the first years of its history. It is part of the Permanent Meeting of Scientific Associations of Argentina (EPAC). It also highlights researchers of national anthropological work for their scientific merits, naming them Honorary Partners. Actually it has dedicated more than eight decades to the national anthropological discipline.
