The Museo Etnográfico ?Juan B. Ambrosetti? was founded by the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the University of Buenos Aires in 1904 with thepurpose of systematically developing anthropological and archaeological research, as well as to establishing the social and humanistic disciplines in Argentina. Its founder was Juan Bautista Ambrosetti, who directed the institution between 1904 and 1917.Currently, the Museum?s exhibitions focus on historical and social processes and are complemented by other activities. The research also focusses on conservationactivities. Good documentation is essential for the conservation and management of collections and is inextricably associated with the investigation of the meaning of cultural materials.
