Congestion and pollution are crucial parameters of quality for living in a city. A correct synchronisation of traffic signals cycles can relieve these issues considering the traffic flow in an area. However, the synchronisation of large scale real scenarios is still an open research topic. In this work, an analysis of the use of optimisation algorithms for signalised intersections scheduling of Mendoza Downtown and surroundings is presented. The results confirm that correct traffic lights programming in large scale scenarios applying optimisation algorithms contributes to improving the air quality and traffic flow of vehicles.
