Resumen:
Waterborne polyurethanes (WBPUs) do not require the use of organic volatile compounds for its dispersion, therefore they stand as a green alternative for replacing traditionally used polyurethanes dispersed in organic volatile solvents [1]. However, their lower thermal stability, and mechanical performance in comparison with those of solvent based-PU formulations have lead to the search for new strategies to modify and improve these properties. In this sense, nanoparticles and specifically, those who are sensitive to an external magnetic field are part of a new generation of materials with varied potential applications. The aim of this work, is to investigate the nanostructure and resulting properties of magnetic nanocomposites prepared from a polycaprolactone (PCL) based WBPU loaded with magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs).
