Metacercaria was found in kidney of host. The frog?s numbers was very low during winter, spring and summer, but were more abundant during autumn. The frog?s population dynamics was governed predominantly by the level of the ponds. The interaction between frog and the diplostomid metacercariae shows a seasonal pattern during the study. Overall prevalence was approximately 28%, abundance was 4,7 and mean intensity of infection was 16,6 (range = 1 -65 trematodes per frog). The prevalence, mean intensity and variance-to-mean relation of infection were positively correlated to frog abundance. In addition, these variables did not increase with body length of the host. Frog females showed greater parasite prevalence than males. This was probably caused by different time in arriving to ?focus? of infection of cercariae.
