The nematode Cosmocerca podicipinus Baker and Vaucher 1984 is redescribed from the intestine and lung of the amphibians leptodactylid Pseudopaludicola falcipes (Hensel 1867) from Corrientes province of Argentina (prevalence: 85%, means intensity: 2.5 and abundance: 2.4). This nematode is cited for the first time in Argentina and represents the first record of the species C. podicipinus from the lung of the amphibians host. New morphological data on the structure of plectanas and papillae, and a table with measurements are included.
