this chapter aims to analyze the challenges, meanings, and implications that arise in relation to the concepts of territory and territoriality from the implementation of the IB in private schools that have internationalized and the impact it has on the local hierarchy. The structure of the article is as follows: the Introduction is followed by the territory and the internationalization of education section. After this, the theoretical and methodological considerations are introduced. The next section provides information on the metropolitan region of Buenos Aires and the IB programs. The next section analyzes the provision of secondary education in socioeconomically homogeneous groups and their struggle for distinction. This is followed by some reflection that presents the conclusion.
